During the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, Give a Gift stepped up to become a Cultural Food Hub, providing crucial support to the community in East Leeds. Recognizing the urgent need for assistance, we dedicated our efforts to ensuring that families had access to staple food items to help sustain them during this difficult period. Throughout this time, we were able to deliver an impressive 4,550 food packs and serve over 1,000 hot cooked meals, making a significant impact on the lives of those in need.
This initiative marked the beginning of our Cultural Food Hub, which has grown substantially since its inception. Presently, we are proud to have over 1,250 weekly beneficiaries, reaching out to families and individuals who rely on our support. Every week, we distribute more than 250 food packs, ensuring that nutritious and essential items reach those who require assistance.
As part of our dedication to the community’s well-being, we continue offering support even throughout the difficult winter months. During this challenging time of year, we provide over 500 food packs to individuals in need of warmth and sustenance.
We at Give a Gift are great believers in the power of community support and the positive influence it can have on people’s lives. Our Cultural Food Hub demonstrates the power of community action, and we will continue to work to improve the lives of individuals in East Leeds who are in need of help. Join us in this charitable effort as we work together to make our community stronger and more resilient.
At Give a Gift, we are proud to collaborate with the organisation PAFRAS (Positive Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers) to extend crucial support to asylum seekers within Leeds. Our partnership is dedicated to ensuring that these individuals receive the assistance they require during challenging times.
One of the ways we provide support is by supplying hot meals and food packs filled with staple items. These provisions play a significant role in addressing the immediate needs of asylum seekers, offering nourishment and sustenance during their journey.
Our collaborative efforts aim to go beyond just providing food. We work together to ensure that asylum seekers receive the right help they need, connecting them with essential services and resources within the community. By offering a holistic approach, we strive to empower these individuals and create a sense of stability and support.
We firmly believe in the power of collaboration and community support. Our partnership with PAFRAS is a testament to our commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of asylum seekers in Leeds.
